In a few years, all of our kids will have left the house. My wife and I will be alone, just the two of us. We will have an empty nest.

Some parents we know are dreading this day. Huh?

Yesterday was an empty nest day for us. Two feet of snow fell. My oldest is not yet home from school for the holidays. Our 15-year-old twins were each at friends for the night. My wife and I were alone for 24-hours. Let’s just say it was a very enjoyable test run of the empty nest.
