For $160 I restored my manhood; and why I like Mississippi
by Jeff RosenbergLike many men, I find this hard to talk about. For the past two years or so, I’ve not been the man I used to be. It was broken. I was too cheap, and tentative, to do anything about it.
But this past Saturday, I finally addressed the problem. I went to Home Depot and bought a new chainsaw. I feel like a man again.
There is something so masculine about pulling the ripcord on a chainsaw, lifting it up, pressing down on the throttle and hearing, zmmmmm, zmmmmm, zmmmmm, zmmmmm. And then, when you cut through a big limb, oh boy!
Of course, now I have to convince my wife that all those trees I cut down, well, the blighted plains landscaping look is in.

I spent two days in Mississippi last week. I’ve now been to every part of the state, from Gulfport to the Delta. Mississippi is worth visiting just for the people. Nicest people per square mile of any state I’ve visited.

Congrats on your new wood killer. I’d get one, but since I live in a townhome community, I don’t think my neighbors would understand.

Blogenberg responds, “This is America. A man should be allowed to fire up his chainsaw anywhere! Plus, what do you do if, for example, you need to separate the chop sticks that came with your Chinese carryout but you don’t have a chainsaw?!?!”
